About Me

Chris Arias is an award-winning illustrator from Costa Rica, recognized for his character-driven fantasy and science fiction work. He is a winner of the Writers & Illustrators of the Future Contest (Vol. 39), with artwork featured in Writers of the Future Vol. 39 and Vol. 40.

His illustrations have also appeared in independent magazines, books, and various creative collaborations, where his focus on storytelling, atmosphere, and emotional presence has become a defining element of his style.

Chris’ work blends realism with narrative sensitivity, drawing from mythology, imagination, and the inner worlds we carry. His approach is guided by the idea that characters are not just designs — they are stories, memories, and possibilities waiting to be seen.

He continues to develop visual worlds for publishers, collectors, and personal projects, always pursuing art that feels alive, intentional, and deeply human.
